It looks like a tealight holder but the opening at the bottom is not large enough for a tealight candle. You could fit a night light bulb in the opening in the bottom. The opening underneath the vessel is 3/4" wide. The ceramic piece stands 5"hx4"w. We obtained this item from an estate sale. This piece is pre-owned.
