Featured Ingredient: Babassu Oil

January 31, 2014 1 min read

We use babassu oil in our goat milk soaps. It's pronounced Bah-bah-soo.  Babassu oil is derived from the seeds of the babassu tree. When the nut from the tree ripens and falls to the ground the seed kernels are gathering and the oil is expelled. Babassu has a melt point close to the human body temperature. It's solid at room temperature and resembles body butter. It moisturizes without leaving an oily feel on your skin. Babassu is good for dry or oily complexion.
We love it in our soaps! It helps us create a hard bar of soap that lasts longer and it's non-clogging for your pores!
